Woodbyne is a small and intimate European style hotel where you can stay, marry and celebrate in style and total privacy.

Set in acres of classical gardens, Woodbyne is the perfect place to hold your dream wedding.

Woodbyne has two function rooms in which wedding receptions can be held.

1) The Garden Room

2) Hotel Gallery

Dinner receptions - Seats up to 60 people

Cocktail receptions - 80 to 150 people (Min 80 people)

The garden Room is a beautiful 100 year old stone building situated in the Woodbyne gardens. The room is lit by French chandeliers and candles and is intimate and comfortable. In summer the French doors are thrown open and the scent of the gardens adds to the romance of the occasion. In winter the log fire adds wonderful warmth and ambience to the celebration. The large covered verandah leads from the room onto the lawns and is perfect for dancing.

To have your reception in the Garden Room, wedding parties are required to book accommodation guest suites in the Hotel (the relevant number of rooms is setout in the Wedding Reception Packages).

2) The Hotel Gallery

Dinner receptions - Seats 60 to 95 people

For larger wedding receptions, the gallery can comfortably seat 60 to 95 guests. The room leads onto the parterre garden, which is a perfect location to have a dance floor under a silk lined marquee.

To have your reception in the Hotel Gallery, wedding parties are required to book the eleven accommodation guest suites in the Hotel.

The Woodbyne gardens are only available for wedding ceremonies and photography to wedding parties who book Woodbyne for their reception.

“I did think about having the wedding in Sydney but just love the south coast. We decided we didn’t want to drive around in traffic and be in a place where lots of other weddings were going on.”
The ceremony was held in Woodbyne’s garden with a red carpet across the lawn serving as the aisle. Red and white rose petals were scattered beneath the juniper tree to form a carpet where Kate & Ryan exchanged their vows.
A string quartet played the Processional and Recessional during the ceremony and later entertained the 100 guests as they enjoyed drinks and canapés in the garden while the bridal party had their photos taken.
The reception was in the hotel gallery room and throughout the evening guests continued to move between the reception area and the romantically lit garden. A marquee with a dance floor was set up outside with a jazz band providing the music.
“It was a very happy day, a perfect day,” Kate recalls. “Although I worked up until the Tuesday before the wedding, it all went very smoothly. I knew what I wanted – there was not much indecision or shopping around – and then I found the professional people to do it for me.”
